About the artist

Rachel grew up on the rural Worcestershire/ Warwickshire border where her interest, involvement and love of horses began with ownership of her first pony at the age of four. Her knowledge and riding ability developed immensely through the West Warwickshire branch of the Pony Club. She also competed regularly in a wide range of equestrian activities.

Rachel’s in- depth knowledge of horses was further developed by qualifying as a Saddler and Harness Maker at Cordwainers College, London and later through Equine Science Degree Studies at Moreton Morrell College, Warwickshire.

This lifetime of experience and knowledge is evidenced by the accuracy of the conformation, and dynamic realism in her sculptures.

Previous sculptures (both having sold out limited editions of 500) include ‘Best Mate’ and ‘Desert Orchid’.
